The mountain is called Taehaksan because it contains Samtaemaaebul (Triplet Rock-carved Buddha, Treasure No. 407), representing the typical Buddha sculpture style from the Goryeo Dynasty, and it resembles a dancing crane. It is a natural habitat for numerous species of flowers and trees, and contains a large colony of pine trees. It is an ideal vacation spot for families.
